Safeguarding

Sheffield Tigers is a club where people should feel relaxed turning up to play or to help out. Safeguarding is part of making sure the environment feels right for everyone. If something worries you, even if you’re not sure why, please mention it. You won’t be causing a fuss.

If you ever need to raise a concern about a player or anything happening around the club, our Safeguarding Officers are the people to contact. They’ll listen and take things forward in a straightforward way.

Safeguarding Officers:
Debbie Sanderson and Sarah Ashton are our safeguarding officers. To help you recognise them, their photos and bios are detailed at the bottom of the page. Both are fully checked and trained through England Netball.

Reporting

Sometimes a concern comes from something small you’ve noticed, sometimes from a conversation or a change in how someone behaves. Whatever it is, if it doesn’t sit right, please say so. If you ever think someone may need urgent help, call 999.

You can email the safeguarding team on safeguardingofficertigers@gmail.com

If you prefer to go outside the club, England Netball has an online form that goes straight to their safeguarding team. You can also email them at safeguarding@englandnetball.co.uk.

We use England Netball’s safeguarding policies as our guide. They cover young people, adults who may need extra support, expected behaviour within the sport, and advice on things like social media and photography. All of these documents are available on the England Netball website.

The aim is simple: the club should feel like a place where people can focus on the netball and feel comfortable being involved. If you ever want to check something or talk something through, just get in touch.
